Deià can easily be done as a day trip, but this is a village with everything you need for staying a while and can make the perfect base for your stay in Mallorca. For a village of only a few hundred residents, Deià has an unusually strong cluster of hotels - from one of Mallorca's most storied luxury addresses to a simple, family-run place with a loyal following. Here's the full rundown, whatever your budget or pace.
A quick note before you dive in: some of these sit outside the village itself, on the road toward Valldemossa or Sóller, so it's worth checking how you'll get around before you book.
La Residencia, Deià

Deià's landmark hotel, La Residencia is set across two restored 16th-century manor houses in the heart of the village, surrounded by mature gardens, olive and citrus groves, and terraces that look out over the rooftops to the mountains beyond. It's quiet, traditional luxury sympathetic to its Mallorquín heritage, with two pools, tennis courts, a spa, and an art collection that includes original works by Joan Miró.
The hotel is arranged around 67 rooms and suites across the historic buildings and a hillside villa, with antique furnishings, wooden beams, and marble bathrooms throughout. The hotel runs a kids club and offers a range of family-friendly activities, as well as adult activities such as yoga, cooking and cocktail making. There's a shuttle down to Cala Deià for anyone who doesn't fancy the walk, and it's right in the village itself, so a car isn't essential if you're happy to stay close to home.
Even if a stay is beyond reach, you can get a sense of the place over lunch or dinner at Restaurante Miró, or dinner at El Olivo. It's the village's address for a special occasion, and it has long attracted musicians, artists, and the occasional Hollywood A-lister looking for somewhere quiet.

Sa Pedrissa
Sa Pedrissa is an adults-only boutique agroturismo set in a fully restored 17th-century finca, about two and a half kilometres from the village on the road toward Valldemossa. It was once owned by Archduke Ludwig Salvador of Austria (one of many estates owned along this coast), and it retains that sense of history; thick stone walls, an ancient olive grove, and a handful of rooms and suites, including a two-storey Tower Suite with sweeping views over the coastline.
The pool looks straight out to sea, and there's a well-regarded restaurant and bar on site serving Mediterranean food from the hotel's own beehives, olives and garden. If you don't have a car, the walk into the village takes around 30 minutes via a path through olive groves. For peace, privacy, and a genuinely gorgeous view, though, there are few better places to base yourself, and the staff have a strong reputation for looking after guests well.

Hotel Es Molí
Hotel Es Molí is a 17th-century estate set into the hillside opposite the village, with terraced gardens and a 32-metre spring-water pool surrounded by mountains. What sets Es Molí apart is its complimentary shuttle down to its private rocky cove at Cala Muleta, complete with its own bar serving light meals and drinks - a genuine treat - although booking is essential as spaces down at the cove are limited.
Rooms are classically decorated and have air conditioning. The hotel is family-friendly, with free parking, a well-equipped gym, a tennis court, and a couple of restaurants on site so you're never short of somewhere to eat without leaving the grounds. It sits close enough to the village to walk in comfortably (15 mins), making it one of the easier options here if you don't have a car. A comfortable, gracious base, with lovely views and easy access to Deià itself.

Deià, Mallorca
Hotel Corazón
As noted in the Guide to Deià, Hotel Corazón technically sits slightly closer to Sóller than Deià, on the coast road between the two, but it earns its place on this list regardless. It's a 15-room, artist-run finca created by artists Kate Bellm and Edgar Lopez. Organic shapes, earthy colours, and handmade detail dominate, right down to the handpainted ashtrays, and a reception counter carved by artist Yasmin Bawa. There are no televisions in the rooms (the point of staying here is the view), a beautiful pool bordered by boulders, cacti and rosemary, and it feels like stepping into someone's creative project rather than a conventional hotel. In the hotel’s own words, Hotel Corazón is luxury but wild.
Alongside the rooms, Corazón operates as a working farm, restaurant, and small art space, with produce grown on-site for the kitchen, and an ongoing programme of exhibitions, sound healing, reiki, massage and yoga. It's the most design-led and free-spirited stay in the area. A car is essential - this is not a hotel you can walk to from anywhere (although there are hiking trails nearby.)

Hotel d'es Puig
If the prices above make your eyes water, this is the one to look at. Hotel d'es Puig is a long-running village hotel with a bohemian past, set inside a Mallorquín house over 100 years old right in the centre of Deià. It's a small, simple, and family-run place, with rustic rooms, an honesty bar, a generous breakfast, and two pools with mountain views, one of which is heated, so it's usable outside of the peak summer months.
There's no restaurant on site, but you're only a few minutes' walk from Deià's cafes and restaurants. The hotel has a handful of its own parking spaces in the village, which counts for a great deal, given how limited parking can be in Deià. There are also apartments with kitchens, which suit families or anyone after a longer, slower stay rather than a standard hotel room.

- Car or no car? La Residencia, Es Molí, and d'es Puig are all walkable to or from the village centre, so you can manage without a car if you're happy to stay close to home. Sa Pedrissa and Corazón both sit outside the village on main roads, and are more difficult without your own transport or a reliable taxi arrangement.
- Budget spread. These run from d'es Puig at the accessible end through to La Residencia at the top, with Es Molí, Sa Pedrissa, and Corazón occupying the mid-to-upper range between them, so there's a realistic option here whatever your budget.
- Booking ahead. Deià has a small number of rooms for a very popular village, and demand through spring and summer is high. If your dates are fixed, it's worth booking in advance.
